Department of Zoology
Profile
The Department of Zoology is dedicated to imparting quality education in animal sciences especially molecular entomology, cancer biology, natural product chemistry for supporting quality of life, molecular genetics, toxicology, nanobiotechnology, environmental science and ecology with Agro-forestry through a balanced integration of theoretical knowledge, laboratory training, field-based learning, and community engagement. The department aims to nurture scientific curiosity, environmental awareness, and research aptitude among students while promoting biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. The department actively encourages experiential learning through ecological surveys, biodiversity documentation, field excursions, internships, seminars, workshops, and outreach programmes. The department is also open to Industry-Academia collabs to facilitate meaningful transition. Through innovative teaching and practical exposure, the department prepares students for higher studies, research, entrepreneurship, and diverse career opportunities in life sciences.
